Hello, I would like to start by introducing myself. My name is Shelby Steeves and I currently live in Surrey, BC. I recently completed my degree in education at the University of Victoria, and have been working in a grade 1/2 class ever since. Last Summer I went back to school to complete my 5th year in Personalized Education and felt so inspired that I plan on taking more courses around inquiry based learning in the fall. I have always loved working with children in many different settings such as after school care programs, summer camps, one-on-one tutoring, inclusion work, teaching dance lessons and coaching sports. These opportunities as well as my schooling has broadened my educational knowledge and influenced my current teaching philosophy. I believe that each and every student in my classroom has the right to learn in a safe and comfortable environment. Whenever I am not in the classroom I love to be outdoors hiking and rock climbing.
